Newborn Hugs and Kisses Cabled Pants

THIS PATTERN MAY NOT BE REPRODUCED, SOLD OR DISTRIBUTED IN ANY WAY THOUGH IT MAY BE USED FOR PERSONAL OR CHARITY USE! Thank you.

This is a pattern that I designed using the hugs and Kisses cable pattern. I had trouble understanding most of the pants patterns out there so thought I'd make up my own and also add the adorable cables down the sides of each leg.
The pattern is written out as simple as I could get it but it is best to read thru first to make you familiar with the INC changes.....!

Sizing: 0-3 months

I used a 4ply baby yarn.
2.75mm and 3.25 mm needles, you will also need a cable needle.

Special abbrevs: C4B - slip two sts off left needle to cable needle, hold at back, knit next
2 sts from left needle then knit both from cable needle.
C4F - slip two sts off left needle to cable needle, hold at front, knit next
2 sts from left needle then knit both from cable needle.

PANT LEG - Make two.

BEG at lower cuff with 2.75mm cast on 46st. Work K2, P2 rib for one inch ending with a right side row and having increased 6 STs evenly across last row. ( 52st ).
Change to 3.25mm and purl a row.

Body Pattern:

Row 1:
(RS) K20, P2, C4B, C4F, P2, K20

Row 2 and all following even rows: P20, K the K sts, P the P sts, P20

IMPORTANT: Starting on row 3, INC one st each edge every 12th row 4 times. Keeping note of changing numbers for your first and last K or P group each row. ( 60 ST ) INC's should end on a row 17.

Row 3:
K2_, P2, K8, P2, K2_

Row 5: K2_, P2, K8, P2, K2_

Row 7: K2_, P2, K8, P2, K2_
Row 9: K2_, P2, K8, P2, K2_

Row 11: K2_, P2, K8, P2, K2_

Row 13: K2_, P2, C4F, C4B, P2, K2_

Row 15: K2_, P2, K8, P2, K2_

Row 17: K2_, P2, K8, P2, K2_

Row 19: K2_, P2, C4B, C4F, P2, K2_

Row 21: K2_, P2, K8, P2, K2_
Row 22: Same as all previous even numbered rows!

After you reach your last INC row on the 17th row continue on working pattern even until work measures 7 1/2 IN from BEG ending with a WS row.

CROTCH SHAPING:

Bind off 3 ST at BEG of next two rows (56ST ).

DEC 1 ST each edge every 2nd row 3 times ( 50st ).

CONT in pattern to 13IN from BEG ending with a RS row.

Change to smaller needles

Row 1: WS P2 ( K2, P2 )

Row 2: K2 ( P2 K2 )

REP ribbing to 1 IN end with WS row then Bind off.

To finish fold each leg piece in half lengthways with cable on the outer leg side and sew leg and crotch seams.

Will post an up close pic of cable pattern soon!

Prem Angel Burial Buntings Pattern

THIS PATTERN MAY NOT BE REPRODUCED, SOLD OR DISTRIBUTED IN ANY WAY THOUGH IT MAY BE USED FOR PERSONAL OR CHARITY USE! Thank you.

These are my special premature angel burial buntings.
I designed these for use in hospitals to help comfort parents whose babies are stillborn or passed.
They feature an in built pouch/pocket and a wrap overlay that ties with ribbon.
The two photos show them closed and open.
They are best made in soft, pastel colored baby yarn.
Guage is not important as any size made will fit some little angel.
Please consider making some for charity as I do.

Pattern:
As sizing isnt important you can ch anything from 10ch to 20ch or more for a newborn angel
Lets say CH 17 (same size as blue one in photo)

ROW 1: DC in 3rd CH from hook and in each across, CH 3 turn.

ROW 2 and following 13 rows: DC in each ST across, CH 3 turn.

14th ROW: DC2Tog, DC to last two stitches, DC2Tog, CH 1 turn.

15th ROW: DC2Tog, DC to last two stitches, DC2Tog, CH 1 turn.

16th ROW: DC2Tog, DC to last two stitches, DC2Tog, CH 1 turn.

17th ROW: DC2Tog, DC to last two stitches, DC2Tog, CH 1 turn.

18th ROW: SC in each st across and all the way down the side folding up the bottom of the piece to form a pocket (fold up 6 rows) and continue SC down side joining both pieces together and continue around bottom (3 SC in each corner) and up other side to top joining with SL ST to first SC.

Now SL ST down side to one ST above pocket opening, SC in that ST and in the following STs leaving last two ST, CH 1 turn.

SC in each ST across (you are forming the side flap) CH 1, turn.
REP SC rows until you reach middle of pocket......ending with last ST at top of pocket flap.
SL ST across top of flap to edge and continue with SC around top of bunting and other side to two ST from bottom, CH 1 turn and REP rows as for other flap.
Finish off.

With ribbon of your choice tie it thru each side with a bow in middle to close flaps.

Any questions just ask and I will do my best to answer. My pattern writing skills are not always 100% accurate, I'm only human, so please just ask if you have any questions.

Ribbed Crocheted Jumper Pattern

THIS PATTERN MAY NOT BE REPRODUCED, SOLD OR DISTRIBUTED IN ANY WAY THOUGH IT MAY BE USED FOR PERSONAL OR CHARITY USE! Thank you.

Okay.....I have finished the final pattern for my crocheted ribbed jumper.
The body is done in the round after starting with the bottom ribbing.
The sleeves/neck area will be two pieces as it makes for a
better stretch.

Here it is:
Sizing for this jumper is 9-12 month old baby. But by increasing all measurments evenly it can easily be adapted to a bigger or smaller size.
I will work in measurments so if you use a smaller hook or ply it will
still be the same.
I used ordinary 8 ply yarn and a 4.5mm hook.

This forms the bottom ribbing....
CH a length of 8cm (my case 10 ch)
CH 1 then in next ST SC in the back loop only, CH 1 turn. REP until
ribbing measures 34cm long.
Join both ends of the ribbing with SL ST.

Now working in the round to form the body along the side of the ribbing ....SC in each st until you have 62 stitches around, SL ST to first.

Round 2:
4 DC in first ST (this forms the side increase) then 30 DC across, 4
DC in next ST then another 30 DC across, SL ST to frst.

Continue in rounds with a SC in each ST until work measures 13cm from
DC row.

Last round DEC next 2 ST, continue across to other side then DEC next
2 ST continue across REM ST and join with SL ST to first.( this pulls
back in the sides). Finish off.

Sleeves/Neck
CH to make a 15cm length (my case 15 ch)
CH 1 cont with SC in back loop only CH 1 turn. REP til you have 14cm
length each arm and whatever your body measures with the ribbing
slighty stretched over body stitches.ie 14cm + 14cm + Body width.
MAKE TWO.
This makes the top and all you do is sew it to the body then sew up
the arms and along the neck leaving a 19cm opening.

NOTE
The body can be made in any stitch you like but only after the DC row has been done first with the increases.

Here is the same jumper worked with a different body stitch:
